Villa Ortensia is the ideal starting point to immerse yourself in the authentic charm of Sicily, nestled between the majestic Norman Castle of Aci Castello and the stunning sea stacks of Acitrezza.
Villa Ortensia was born on an ancient seaside estate, a place rich in history and memory. During World War II, my grandfather, Lieutenant Nociforo, used the lava caves on the property to hide partisans and fleeing Jews, thus contributing to a small but significant piece of history.
In the 1970s, the villas that now make up the Ortensia complex were built on that land. In 2006, we decided to transform our family home into a B&B, giving life to Villa Ortensia—a family-run project born out of enthusiasm and passion.
Over time, the property has grown: we expanded the spaces, renovated the interiors, added new rooms, and refined every detail to offer our guests an increasingly comfortable and welcoming stay.
Since 2016, the management has been passed on to me and my husband Alfio, along with our inseparable companion, Brando. And in 2019, with the arrival of little Mario, Villa Ortensia was filled with new laughter and fresh energy.
Today, it is a modern and welcoming home that continues to evolve. We are working on new projects, such as the addition of a garden pool, to make our guests’ stay even more enjoyable and memorable.
We carefully select each product to offer you a rich and authentic experience, featuring Sicilian flavors, traditional pastries, and healthy options.
Every morning, we welcome you in the garden to enjoy homemade cakes and Sicilian specialties.
Villa Ortensia is the perfect starting point to explore Eastern Sicily: Catania, Mount Etna, Aci Trezza, and many other authentic places where nature, art, and tradition come together.
